Keep a Cash Book to Keep More Cash
One of the best things you can do to save money is to keep a Cash Book. Just as you keep a register to track the money flowing in and out of your checking account, so you need to keep a register of your cash flow.
Get a small notebook that you keep with you at all times (okay, you can leave on the nightstand while you sleep). Write down everything you buy. Sodas, gasoline, milk, groceries, everything. Make it a habit. Do it every time you spend even a dime. Every day. Just like brushing your teeth.
You may be shocked at where some of your money is going. When I started this awhile back, I never realized how much money I was spending on virtually nothing. Soft drinks, convenience store snacks, little items at the Dollar Store that I didn’t need and often never used. This is a real eye-opener for those of us who need to get a grip on our finances.
Try it. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much it helps straighten out your bottom line.
Thanks for sharing such great information. I’m giving you The Lemonade Award so be sure to swing by my blog [FrugalPatti.Today.com] to pick up your award!
